Summer 2005 : Backcountry Backpacking in New Hampshire's White Mountains

Feel the summer breeze, listen to the splashing melody of forest-bordered streams, explore the rugged yet welcoming backcountry of New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest. Take in the mountain views while hiking trails through wooded peaks and ravines. Renew yourself and connect to nature.
It all awaits you this summer as Teva Adventure enables you, your friends and your family to experience the beauty of backcountry trails while learning the basics of trip-planning, backpacking, navigation, and making camp, all while emphasizing a Jewish approach to the importance of the natural world and its conservation.
Gain hands-on experience and learn from experts about such essential backcountry skills as preparing food and packing for the trail, map-reading and orientation, hiking, choosing a campground, making camp and outdoor cooking - all with an emphasis on treading lightly and safely in nature.
In addition, take this unique opportunity to learn about Jewish approaches to the environment while discovering new ways to be inspired by our natural world through prayer and meditation. Stop along the way to meet your surroundings, each other, and yourself. Several of our trips include a festive and rejuvenating Shabbat in Nature, on the trail. Learn about and participate in building an eruv, cooking and baking bread ahead of Shabbat. And spend Shabbat itself focusing on nature through the lens of rest and spiritual connection.
Learn practical skills and develop your connection to the natural world through a Jewish perspective. It's all waiting for you in New Hampshire's beautiful White Mountain National forest, with Teva Adventure.
